Terms of Service
Effective November 3, 2026
These terms apply when you use the SnapCut app ("SnapCut", "we", "us") on Android and iPhone (including SnapCut Go, the web-based Android version, and the new native version), any web or desktop version of it, and this website. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.
1. Accepting these terms
By downloading or using SnapCut, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
2. Who can use SnapCut
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age to use online services where you live, to use SnapCut. If you are under the age of adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.
3. Your account
You can use most of SnapCut without an account; tools marked PRO open when you sign in (see section 7). If you sign in with Google, you're responsible for keeping your Google account secure, and for anything done in SnapCut through your account. You can sign out at any time on the Profile screen.
4. Your content
You own the videos, photos and projects you make with SnapCut. They stay on your device, so we don't need, and don't take, any licence to them.
You are responsible for what you make and share. Make sure you have the rights to the clips, photos, music, logos and other material you use. That includes permission from the people who appear in your videos, where the law requires it.
Keep copies of videos that matter to you. Projects exist only on your device, so we can't recover them if they are deleted or your device is lost.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve SnapCut, with no obligation to you.
5. Content in the app
SnapCut includes songs, sound effects, stickers, fonts, templates, titles and effects. Some are made by us and some are provided by others under their own licences. You may use them in the videos and photos you make with SnapCut. You may not extract them, sell them or share them on their own, except where their licence allows it.
The app, its design and its code belong to SnapCut and its licensors. These terms don't give you any rights to our name or logo.
6. Music and copyright
The song library includes 30-second previews supplied by Apple. Those songs are owned by their artists and labels. SnapCut does not give you a licence to publish them. They are for personal use, and social apps may mute or remove videos that use them. You are responsible for having the rights to any music you publish.
7. SnapCut Pro
SnapCut Pro unlocks the tools marked PRO in the app. Right now SnapCut Pro is free when you sign in with Google. We may change which features are part of Pro.
If we introduce paid plans, the app will show you the price and terms before you pay. Payments will be handled by Google Play under its terms, and refunds will follow Google Play's refund policies unless the law requires otherwise.
8. AI features
SnapCut's AI tools include captions, background removal, Rotoscope Mask, face effects, AI voices (Text-to-Speech), Voice Studio (voice cloning, Voice Generator, dubbing and music), the Video translator, upscaling and object removal on photos. They run on your device, and their results can be inaccurate or incomplete. Check captions, translations and edits before you publish them. Only clone or dub the voice of someone who has agreed to it, and never use a cloned or generated voice to mislead people or to pretend to be someone else.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to use SnapCut to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy and publicity rights
- make or share content that sexually exploits children, promotes violence or terrorism, or harasses, threatens or defames anyone
- deceive people, for example by making a real person appear to say or do something they didn't, without their consent
- reverse engineer the app to get around its limits, or interfere with, overload or scrape SnapCut's online services
- sell, rent or redistribute the app, or pass off a modified copy as SnapCut
10. Other companies' services
Some features rely on other companies, for example Google for sign-in and Apple for song previews. The apps where you share your videos are other companies' services too. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to how you use their services, and we aren't responsible for them.
11. Changes to the app
We keep improving SnapCut. We may add, change or remove features, including features marked "soon". We may also pause or stop online features such as content downloads. We'll try to give notice of big changes in the app.
12. Disclaimers
SnapCut is provided "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will be free of errors or always available, or that AI results will be accurate.
13. Limitation of liability
As far as the law allows, SnapCut is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages. We are also not liable for any loss of data, content, profits or goodwill arising from your use of the app. Our total liability for any claim about SnapCut is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$100.
Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by contract.
14. Ending your use
You can stop using SnapCut at any time and ask us to delete your account, as explained in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access to SnapCut's online features if you break these terms or misuse the service. Sections 4 to 6 and 12 to 16 continue to apply after your use ends.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll tell you in the app. If you keep using SnapCut after the changes take effect, you accept the new terms.
